Coleman Classic Propane Stove Review

When looking for an extra cooking you want something that is easy to transport, easy to use and easy to store when not in use. Let’s look at the Coleman Classic and see if it has any of these features:

The Coleman Classic Propane Stove has definitely been designed for outside use because it sports the Wind Block panels on the side to protect the flame from the wind, it also adjusts to allow for different pan sizes, this is so useful as you can’t know what the elements will throw at you when you’re outside but these panels keep you cooking regardless.

It’s large enough that you can fit 2 large pans on the flame without a problem, so no limit to the size of the meal that you can prepare.

This is a propane gas fuel countertop burner so you do need to have some cylinders of fuel to run this stove, they can be bought at various places and also at Amazon.com.

This burner has been designed to keep the gas flowing smoothly and efficiently no matter what the conditions which is just what you’re looking for if you take this with you on a camping trip, knowing that can cook with little messing about is what you’re after.

This Coleman stove is 4.1 x 21.9 x 13.7 inches and it all folds down flat for easy transport wherever you’re going because you wouldn’t store it away with the gas attached. Once you raise the lid and attach the wind panels you have 2 gas burners at your disposal to cook on. Of course, this is presuming that you have installed the gas cylinder.

Both of the gas burners have an independent control knob on the front of the unit, you will need a lighter of some kind to light the flame. The gas bottle is attached at the side of the cooker very easily, just hand tighten the connector to the oven then screw the gas canister in the other end, the wind panel protects it from some of the heat coming from the burners.

They can both run at the same time or independently. They can be turned up high or down low to simmer. The benefit of a visible flame makes adjusting the heat very easy to do although these knobs are not well marked so it may take a little trial and error till you get used to them.

If by chance something spills over or you drop something near the burner on this Coleman stove, the chrome-plated grate, which gives a very stable surface to stand a pan on, can easily be removed when everything is turned off to clean. The gaps in the grate are large so be careful if you use a small pan to make sure it is balanced.

Although this is a great stove to take camping or use outside it would also make a useful addition in the kitchen if you needed an extra burner when cooking a large amount at celebration times.

Another benefit of the Coleman Classic Propane Stove is the fact that you don’t need electricity, whether you are camping in a tent or traveling without any access to an outlet you can always have a hot meal if you have this propane stove, you just need a flat surface to set it up on, even on the ground and you can be good to go.

Coleman also offers a 3-year limited warranty, there aren’t too many parts to go wrong but you have the satisfaction of knowing if it does you should be covered.

Customer Opinion

Most customers just love this model it’s compact, lightweight, and easy to set up, and getting the gas cylinders is pretty easy and cheap.
The fact that it works great to cook meals in frying pans and pots at the same time is very useful when camping.
Lots of buyers like the fact that you can use it outside when cooking foods that can smell up your living area.

The negatives found are that it was hard to control the knobs on the front of the unit easily to adjust the flame height and there was no built-in ignition.

Verdict

If you’re looking for a portable stove to take away camping or to use outside at home this Coleman Classic Propane Stove would be a good buy for you. It’s all you could want in being easy to use and set up and it folds flat for storage and travelling.
